experiences on the water.
Youth Sailing (ages 12 and over)
We offer beginning and advanced youth group classes which meet for 4-consecutive Saturdays from 9:00 am to noon. The first session begins with the first Saturday in June and the second session starts with the first Saturday after the July 4th weekend. Beginning Sailing classes provide basic sailing instruction on 14-ft, single-sail Sunfish dinghies. We also offer an advanced class for more experienced sailors on 2-sail centerboard sloops, which explore more advanced sailing techniques. Students must know how to swim at least 50 yards and be able to float on their back without the assistance of a flotation device. A life preserver (which must be worn at all times while on the water) will be provided for the courses. The cost is $50 per student, which includes a US Sailing instruction manual and a Junior membership to the Lake Manawa Sailing Club, which entitles the student to use the Club’s boats outside of the course instruction periods. To enroll in any of the youth sailing group classes, please complete the attached application forms (4 documents) below and return to Randy Greer, 1808 N 132nd Avenue Circle, Omaha, NE 68154.
We offer two adult group classes for beginning sailors on 14-ft single-sail Sunfish dinghies. These classes are scheduled on 4-consecutive weekday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The first session begins on June 5th and the second session begins on June 19th. For the more experienced adult sailors, we offer 5 consecutive Adult Intermediate classes using 2-sail sloops beginning on Monday, June 16th. Whether beginner or experienced, please contact Randy Greer at email@example.com or 402-679-0141 for the current season’s schedule and enrollment information. Students must know how to swim at least 50 yards and be able to float on their back without the assistance of a flotation device. A life preserver (which must be worn at all times while on the water) will be provided for the courses. The cost is $95 per student, which includes a US Sailing instruction manual. We also offer an individualized private adult and youth sailing training on a 22-ft cruising sailboat. This training can be adapted to any level of sailing skill, from beginner to experienced. The training meeting times are arranged to meet the schedule of the student(s) and the instructor. For private lessons please contact Bill Steitzer at firstname.lastname@example.org or 402-714-1995.
