Iowa Nebraska Sailing Association (INSA)

The Iowa Nebraska Sailing Association (INSA) also known as Snipe Fleet #309, is the association of sailors within LMSA that primarily race Snipe Class sailboats.  There are approximately 20 to 25 Snipe Class boats within the fleet.  Our fleet #309 is a member of the Snipe Class International Racing Association (SCIRA) which has fleets and racing programs worldwide. See also the History page of this site.   The Snipes in our fleet race on Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm and Saturday afternoons at 1:30 pm with other boats from the ENSA fleet.  The option exists for separate starts for the Snipes when 5 or more are racing.   A Snipe regatta will be held at our club in September wherein Snipes for other fleets nationwide are invited to come and compete.   The club owns several older Snipes and would encourage members to commit to Snipe racing using one of these boats.   Dues for INSA are $50 for regular racing members, $25 for first year members and $15 for Social or Junior racing memberships.   These dues are in addition to the required LMSA membership fee.  Go to the Join Us page to join “online”.   For answers to your questions, contact INSA Commodore, Rick Scofield at (402) 680-4705.
