Session 2: Bring out the “big boats” – Capri 22, San Juan 24, and the Santanas. The “big boats” will each have a designated and experienced coach on board. we’ll figure out who/what in conjunction with COVID requirements and safe practices.

Topic: Heavy Wind Sailing (reefing, sail selection, trim, etc)

More on “little boats”;  Sunfish, lasers, butterfly, Holders, waves… all will be available for sailing. Coaches will be sailing either with you on Holder/Wave if you like, or on the water in sunfish etc.

August 16: “let’s get technical, technical”

1) How hulls work – center of gravity/lateral resistance/buoyancy

2) How sails work – air foil, main vs main-jib, trimming

3) Putting it together – points of sail

This lesson will be dedicated to “little boats”;  Sunfish, lasers, butterfly, Holders, waves, etc. all will be available for sailing. Coaches will be sailing either with you on Holder/Wave if you like, or on the water in sunfish etc.

Lecture Topics – this will be accompanied by a training booklet, since there is just too much to cover on each topic in just one hour.
