Open Class Racing (ENSA)

Eastern Nebraska Sailing Association (ENSA)

The Eastern Nebraska Sailing Association is a club composed of individuals and families interested in all aspects of sailing.  Our members come from Omaha, Council Bluffs and surrounding areas.  ENSA helps all members enjoy a variety of boats and sailing events, improve their skills and meet other sailors.

Our club is associated with the Lake Manawa Sailing Association and we launch our boats from their private beach and docks. Lake Manawa Sailing Association hosts a number of  social events during the year and we all enjoy the fellowship and food.

Racing

Sailing is an excellent sport of all ages, and we try to make sure that you enjoy this sport as much as possible.  You can be competitive or kick back and relax.  ENSA races a mixed fleet of all kinds of sailboats using the Portsmouth Handicap System to allow different classes of boats to be competitive with each other.   Our scheduled races this year are on Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm and on Saturday afternoons at 1:30 pm.  The season starts mid may and will run into October.  At the conclusion of the season we will have an awards dinner recognizing the standings of the skippers for the year.  We thrive on improving our skills and are always willing to help newcomers with setting up, tuning their boats, racing rules and tactics.  For a double check on the ENSA racing schedule, check the calendar of this website.
