Join us to welcome home our beloved USS NEBRASKA SSBN Gold 739 and come to an early gathering at the Lake Manawa for sailing, socializing, cook out, and of course the usual sea stories. There will be six crew members joining us.
There will also be four SAILORS from the USS OMAHA LCS-12. These sailors are always eager to meet us as we are to meet them at Lake Manawa Sailing Club.
WHEN: Monday, June 19, 2023
TIME: Sailing & Activities begin at 1600; Social Time at 1700; Chow at 1800
WHERE: Lake Manawa Sailing Club
COST: $15.00 for adults; $5.00 for age 5-10; free for kids under five.
**SPONSOR A SAILOR…Help defray our meal costs and sponsor the meal of a SAILOR or two or other amount.
MENU: Chicken, brats, potato salad, beans, brownies, & drinks.
ACTIVITIES: Swapping sea stories, volleyball, sailboat, & pontoon boat rides.
DIRECTIONS: Take I-80 to the Lake Manawa & Iowa Hwy 192 Exit. Go South on 192 about 1 mile to the “T”, and turn right on Comanche Road. Go past Council Bluffs Country Club on the left and go on to the Lake Manawa Sailing Association gate. You’ve arrived!
